The Wallpaper Collage series developed from using printed pattern samples of my original wallpaper designs as backgrounds to layer mixed media collages on top of. These unique, textured compositions combine abstract shapes, vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and fragments of drawings and paintings, forming visual narratives that invite personal interpretation.

Balancing forms and spontaneity are the inspiration for this piece. The block in the center feels ‘mod’—like from the 60s, and some of the shapes are cartoon-like, creating a sense of nostalgia for bright design moments in the past.

The background pattern grounds the shapes and forms. The movement throughout the picture plane is unique, it works in this piece but is not a classic composition. “Oh Yeah” is a reference to deference, to being cool, yet still being excited to move forward with an open heart and mind.
